Description
In support of the Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP), this project will provide new Terminal Improvements at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to integrate the new Automated People Mover (APM) system with the existing Terminals.

Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) Core: This will be a new 3+ level facility on the east side of the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) with elevators, escalators and stairs. The TBIT Core will also include minor modifications, enhancements and additions to the existing interior spaces (restrooms, concessions, office space, etc.).  A future pedestrian walkway will connect TBIT Core to the future APM Station between Parking Structures 3 and 4, and structural provisions will be included in the TBIT Core to support and interface with this future pedestrian walkway.

TITAN AEC provided consulting services for building information modeling (BIM) to support the contractual owner mandates required by Los Angeles World Airports.  TITAN AEC also provided virtual design & construction (VDC) consulting to support the construction coordination efforts of the general contractor.  Our consulting team started with writing the BIM Execution Plan for this project that was a contractual addendum for the architect, consulting engineers, and trade subcontractors on this project.  The use of BIM allowed the project team to extend the use of the model data into virtual reality for stakeholder engagement, mixed reality for trade subcontractor validation, and data analytics to validate model health and clash reporting.  During the pandemic, TITAN AEC implemented the use of Autodesk Construction Cloud to ensure all project stakeholders can securely collaborate with the building information model (BIM) in the cloud.
