Description
This five-story building was design back in 1966.  Due to its age has since earned Level V for seismic stability, a rating designated for structures whose failure may greatly impact a large area or number of people.  50 years later, the structure was ready for safety modifications to increase its viability after an earthquake. Jules Stein Institute located at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) seismically strengthened the 93,000 GSF structure, renovated two floors as wet labs for vision science research, improved way-finding within the building for ophthalmology patients, replaced aged building systems, and provide disabled access improvements.  TITAN AEC provided oversight for the BIM Execution Plan and set expectations with the trade contractors.  Our consulting team also provide BIM coordination services to ensure the trade subcontractors were on track and clashes were resolved on a weekly basis.
